The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation

It’s not every day that you hear of an organization whose goal is to “collectively plant 18 billion fruit trees for a healthy planet (approximately 3 for every person alive).” The rationale (and the spirit) of the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation is that “Fruit trees heal the environment by cleaning the air, improving soil quality, preventing erosion, creating animal habitat, sustaining valuable water sources, and providing healthy nutrition.” It’s one of my dreams to someday see a good blend of non-fruit trees and fruit trees from which anyone may pick, for themselves, not for sale, line our streets.
